Abstract: The Great Lakes region has become a significant focal point in our national political discourse. Beyond its political influence, the region holds a critical position in debates about the future of the United States and fostering broad-based prosperity nationwide. Many of the countrys social, economic, and political challenges are playing out in this region, home to 50 million people.
