Abstract: Based on the differences in average incomes between male and female nurses, it is expected that the coefficient on the variable female will be negative. In other words, it is expected that there is a significant difference between male and female earnings in the nursing profession. I will estimate a wage equation by ordinary least squares (OLS) that controls for possible differences in earnings, such as education, experience, race, employment status (part-time or full-time), the number of children one has, marital status, region, urban residence and industry.
