Abstract: Whether a person receives a college degree determines her outcomes in adulthood, including her job prospects, wages, ability to create generational wealth, and quality of life. But there are large gaps in postsecondary attainment based on race or ethnicity, gaps that at least partly account for pervasive and enduring gaps in economic outcomes. It is therefore important to understand how different racial and ethnic groups are represented in postsecondary education.
