Abstract: Since 2009, the US government has deported a record high of 1.06 million people, nearly 400,000 each year. 1 This represents more than twice the 189,000 who were deported in 2001.2 Now at an all-time high, deportation and removal is one of the primary features of immigration enforcement efforts at the start of the twenty-first century.
