Abstract: The thesis proposes a novel solution to the information integration problem. The proposed solution enables information integration in the Semantic Web by means of rewriting SPARQL queries. The work begins by introducing the notion of computer systems integration and describing the issue of heterogeneous data as well as known solutions dealing with such data. The author also briefly describes technologies and standards created for the Semantic Web. Following the description of existing research work, a novel approach to information integration in the Semantic Web is proposed. Both the theoretical aspect of the solution and the implementation details are described. The thesis concludes with the assessment of the proposed solution and indication of directions for further research.
