Abstract: Researchers have found indirect evidence supporting the role of technology in changing the workforce skill mix in the US by decomposing the change in the skill mix into within/between industry components. This paper provides additional support for the role of technology by extending the decomposition analysis into both the sectoral and the regional dimensions.
