Abstract: Using data from the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) programs Trade Act Participant Report (TAPR) and the US Census Displaced Workers Surveys, we illustrate the patterns of occupation changes for workers displaced from manufacturing sector jobs. Specifically, we provide information on the difference in offshorability between workers pre and postdisplacement occupations. We find significant variation in these changes while many workers move from one highly offshorable occupation to another.
