Title: A STUDY OF MAJOR IMPACT ASSORTATIVE MATING AMONG U.S. COLLEGE GRADUATES

Citation Type: Miscellaneous

Publication Year: 2018

Abstract: We use American Community Survey public use micro data to document the significant extent of assortative mating among US college graduates by college major group. We also show that this sorting process increases income dispersion, since high-income majors tend to marry each other, as do low-income majors.
