Abstract: This research provides an extended profile of the social and economic well-being of rural Pennsylvania women. Using highly credible secondary data sources, the research describes the life circumstances of contemporary rural women. Rural Pennsylvania women, grouped into three broad age categories, are compared to their urban counterparts as well as to both rural men and urban men in the state. Trends spanning about a decade are depicted, and contextual measures and geographic considerations provide depth to the profiles of these women’s lives.
