Title: A Demographic Portrait of the Mexican-Origin Population in Nebraska

Abstract: Over the past four decades, the size of the Mexican-origin population in Nebraska has increased substantially. Mexicans −immigrants and U.S. born− represent by far the largest proportion of the Latino population in Nebraska. This report presents a historical account of the Mexican-origin population growth, outlines some current socio-demographic characteristics by nativity2 , and identifies some socioeconomic trends in the last decade.
