Abstract: I have two main goals with this brief. First, instead of looking at correlates with overall DI participation, as much of the previous literature has explored, I look at correlates of DI benefit receipt for people with mental disorders. I do not seek to provide a specific causal explanation for DI participation for mental disorders-instead, I explore a variety of potential factors including economics, demographics, policy, health, and access to the health care system.
