Abstract: This technical report describes the creation of statistical weights for version 3.0CenSoc-Numident and CenSoc-DMF mortality datasets using vital statistics data from the National Center for Health Statistics. We describe the structure of CenSoc data, National Center for Health Statistics mortality data, and motivating issues for constructing these weights. We detail the weighting procedure for different groups of records in CenSoc data, and conclude by demonstrating the effect of weights on mortality estimation using a regression framework.
