Abstract: My main inspiration for this project came from a beautiful visualization called A Day in the Life of Americans by Nathan Yau from Flowing Data. In my research to inspect the inner workings of this visualization, I came across a replica of this project by a group of Harvard students . This project by the Harvard students inspired some of the features that I added to the original visualization. However, the data used in both of these projects was from 2014, and more importantly, it was about the whole U.S. population. As a student who is in their last semester at college, I wanted to see a more relatable aspect. In other words, my main question for this project is how U.S. full-time college students spend their day. Specifically, I wanted to visualize the duration and the transition, examine the distribution and the differences of the activities by groups.
