Abstract: Beyond postfordism How are recent mutations of the capitalist economic and social order expressed in the form and substance of the world’s economic landscape? How, in turn, is the economic landscape implicated in the social reproduction of capitalism as a whole at the present time? In particular, how are these diverse phenomena expressed in patterns of urban and regional development? These questions motivate the entire essay that follows.
