Abstract: An earlier paper proposed a consistent category system for occupations in the U.S. Census of Population data from 1960 to 2000, based mainly on the 1990 Census occupation definitions. This paper updates that work by assigning some of the standardized occupations probabilistically to 1960 respondents on the basis of other information available about the respondent.
