Analyze how employment is related to the population decline of D.C.’s African American community. Identify the impact of the lack of affordable housing on the low- and moderate-income African American community in Washington, D.C. Propose feasible policies to improve the economic well-being of the city’s African American residents. The city must enact policies and support programs that ensure equal economic opportunities for its African American residents. Such steps are essential to properly honoring and building upon the invaluable contributions of African Americans to the culture, social fabric, and civic life of the nation’s capital.
