Abstract: Hearing loss is one of the most common health problems in later life (Lin et al. 2011b; Whitson et al. 2018), affecting 27.3% of individuals aged 65–74 and 45.1% of individuals aged 75 and older in the United States (CDC 2017). Globally, the World Health Organization (WHO) (2018) estimates that one-third of individuals over the age of 65 have a disabling hearing loss. As the global population continues to age, effectively screening for and diagnosing hearing loss will be paramount to improve population health.
