Abstract: This study examines the concentration of household income in the United States between 1990 and 2010, using data on household income from the U.S. Census Bureau. It measures the distribution of income among different earning percentiles and actual income-earning categories. Additionally, it uses the Gini index of inequality and its changes over time as an indicator of income concentration.
