Abstract: The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) was established as the last of the baby boomers were being born and the first were transitioning to adulthood. This generation has greatly influenced patterns of housing growth and development in the United States and will continue to do so. Baby boomers are parents to the millennial generation, a group with the potential to reshape the urban formthough to what extent remains to be seen.
