Abstract: If california were its own country. It would have the world's fifth-largest immigrant population. There were more immigrants in California than there are in several countries where immigrants has been exhaustively studied and debated, including the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, France, and Canada. California has been the most immigrants in the United States (almost eleven million) and the highest share in its population (27%). The state is one of the most important immigrant destinations in the world.
