2016. Statistics about Seniors with Vision Loss.

Previous editions of the Navigator have presented national-level data about people with vision loss for the entire U.S. population, [school-aged children], and [infants and toddlers]. Now, we will focus on one of the largest demographic concentrations of people who are blind/visually impaired: older Americans. Various agencies and studies have focused on the aging population, and (if you are a regular reader of the Navigator) you won’t be surprised to learn that no single age range “defines” the senior population.
